Assemblymember Harabedian Honors Caroline Que Anderson for AAPI Heritage Month Recognition and Years of Public Education Leadership

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Today, Assemblymember John Harabedian honored La Cañada School Board President Caroline Que Anderson as his Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month honoree at the California State Capitol, recognizing her years of steady leadership in public education and her dedication to students, families, and the local community.

“Caroline Anderson brought a steady, thoughtful approach to public education and always kept students at the center of her work,” said Assemblymember John Harabedian. “Her service has strengthened schools in La Cañada Flintridge, and it was an honor to recognize her during AAPI Heritage Month for the impact she has made over the years.”

Anderson, the first Asian American woman elected to the La Cañada Unified School District Board of Education, has been part of shaping and supporting the district through years of engagement with local schools and education organizations. Her public service has focused on strengthening classrooms, supporting teachers, and making sure families feel informed and included in the decisions that affect their children’s education.

During her time on the school board, Anderson has worked on efforts aimed at improving academic programs and expanding opportunities for students across the district. She has also played active roles in PTA organizations and partnered with local education foundations to help bring additional resources into schools. Across all of this work, she is known for showing up, listening closely to families, and staying focused on what students need most.

Harabedian’s office noted that the recognition is part of its annual AAPI Heritage Month Recognition Ceremony, which highlights individuals whose leadership and service have helped strengthen communities across the district.
