Assemblymember Harabedian Presents $21.7 Million Check to the Eaton Canyon Landscape Recovery Center as Part of Altadena’s Rebuild

(ALTADENA, CA) – Assemblymember John Harabedian (D-Pasadena) presented a $21.7 million state investment at the opening of the Eaton Fire Canyon Landscape Recovery Center, marking a major milestone in Altadena’s recovery from the 2025 wildfires. The funding secured by Assemblymember Harabedian will support the rebuilding and restoration of fire-impacted parks and open space, helping re-green neighborhoods with native, climate resilient trees and plants grown locally at the new Center. 

Assemblymember Harabedian’s Bill to Eliminate “Fail-First” Barriers for Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorder Treatment

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – Assemblymember John Harabedian (D-Pasadena) introduced AB 1970: Ending Fail-First for Behavioral Health Medication, legislation designed to prohibit health insurers from mandating step therapy– commonly known as “fail-first”– for medication that harms those with serious mental illness or substance abuse disorder. 

Assemblymember Harabedian Acts to Extend Mortgage Forbearance for LA Wildfire Survivors and Protect all Californians

(SACRAMENTO, CA) Today, Assemblymember John Harabedian (D - Pasadena) announced legislation to extend AB 238: The Mortgage Forbearance Act (Harabedian, 2025) by two additional years for Los Angeles Fire survivors who are struggling to make timely mortgage payments, and create a statewide mortgage forbearance program for future natural disaster survivors.  

Assemblymember Harabedian Introduces Legislation to End Insurance Driven Fire Testing and Establish Science Based Safety Standards

(ALTADENA, CA)  Families returning home after a wildfire should not be forced to gamble with their health. The smoke from fires that blaze through the wildland-urban interface (WUI) has far greater health impacts than smoke from wildfires in remote areas. Yet more than a year after the Eaton and Palisades fires, many residents are still living with uncertainty, fear, and risk because California lacks enforceable standards for post fire home testing.
